Airborne...
All The Way!!!
This is the website of Able Company, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (reenacted). The 504th PIR is the oldest, continuously operating World War Two Airborne reenactment unit, having been "living history" since 1976. Based out of Illinois, we have membership in eight states, as well as overseas members.
We are a group of like-minded historians who portray the paratroopers of the 504th PIR as they would have looked during the following campaigns: Sicily, Italy (Salerno and Anzio), Netherlands, and the Battle of the Bulge.
Our goal is to accurately portray the life and times of the average soldier who sacrificed so much to defeat Nazi tyranny. We hope that, through our portrayal, we can educate the public about the soldiers of World War Two, while honoring the veterans themselves.
To accomplish these goals, we take part in reenactments, living histories and parades, as well as educational displays at schools and veterans meetings. We've even parachuted from an original WWII C47 airplane, wearing WWII equipment, to better understand what the paratroopers went through.
The 504th PIR (reenacted) is a member organization of the World War Two Historical Reenactment Society, a mid-west based living history society.
